Central Supply Aide-Central Service FT
Date Position Available:
Cleans, sterilizes and assembles equipment, supplies and instruments. Decontaminates surgical instruments, container syringes, surgical linen and equipment. Prepares packs of supplies and instruments. Prepares control system for supplies processed. Places sterilized items in proper storage area after processing. Performs other assigned duties as needed.
High school graduate or equivalent. Operating Room Technician certification or Central Supply Aide experience preferred. One year post operating room/central service experience required. Good mechanical aptitude, with ability to troubleshoot and work independently. Must be accurate in following set rules for cleaning, sterilizing and assembling supplies. Must be able to work independently without supervision and demonstrate clinical competence in all areas of central sterile work. Must have the ability to identify all surgical instruments immediately to respond to emergency situations which may develop in the Operating Room; must demonstrate competence in the assembly and preparation of complex instrument trays for a variety of surgical cases and do so in a minimal amount of time during urgent or emergency procedures. (10-20 min. maximum).
While performing the duties of this job the team member is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms: climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The team member must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
