Clerk-Patient Registration PRN

Interviews patient or patient’s representative to obtain necessary personal and financial information and enters into Medical Center computer system. Confers with physicians, nursing, ancillary departments or other appropriate parties to assist in the coordination of the patient’s care. When necessary will assign accommodations based on physician’s orders, patient’s preference, nature of illness, availability of space, and other information. Order tests and treatments as dictated by the patient’s physician. May work regularly in any and all areas of Patient Registration, including Inpatient admitting, Outpatient Registration, and the Emergency Department Registration.
High school diploma or GED. Three months related experience. Must type 35 cwpm.
While performing the duties of this job the team member is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms: climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The team member must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
