Performs nursing assessments for each assigned patient. Interprets and evaluates patient symptoms and diagnostic information to identify and assess patients clinical problems and health care needs. Recognizes and responds appropriately to emergency situations; communicates emergency data immediately to appropriate individuals. Consistently administers medications and treatments safely and proficiently. Accepts responsibility and accountability for his/her clinical nursing practice. Establishes priorities in the provision of nursing care considering acuity of illness of patients. Demonstrates competency knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing for registered nurses. Current Kentucky and Ohio Licensure. BLS certification and two to 5 years current medical/surgical experience required. Meets specific departmental criteria and/or certification.
While performing the duties of this job the team member is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms: climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The team member must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
