Radiology Technologist-Radiology PRN
Date Position Available:
Performs radiographic procedures. Corroborates the patient’s clinical history related to requested procedure, documenting information to be available for use by a certified or licensed practitioner. Verbally instructs and physically prepares patient for procedure. Provides instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in theory and practical application of radiography techniques. Selects the appropriate radiographic equipment and/or associated accessories, and determines radiographic exposure techniques to successfully perform procedures. Correctly positions patient’s anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability, comfort, and privacy. Immobilizes patients and required and appropriate. Implements the principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self and others. Evaluates radiographs of images for acceptable technical quality. Verifies patient name and radiology number. Detects physical and psychological needs of patient during procedures utilizing visual and auditory skills. Reads, explains and verifies informed consent form.
Graduate of a committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) or equivalent accredited radiography program. Maintains certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent and a valid State certification. Maintains continuing education requirements specified by the ARRT and State. Interventional radiology experience preferred.
AHA BLS required.
While performing the duties of this job the team member is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms: climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The team member must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
