Supervisor-Food Services PRN

The Food Services Supervisor trains and directs employees in proper performance of duties including food preparation, handling, service, sanitation and safety of food. Assigns and coordinates work of employees to promote efficiency of operations. Inspects kitchen, dining areas, utensils and equipment to ensure sanitary standards are met. Conducts daily quality checks on food items before meal service. Completes quality control and quality assurance activities. Prepares cleaning schedules and directs cleaning assignments; responsible for the over-all sanitation of the food service area. Keeps records such as amount and cost of meals served and hours worked by employees. Works in close cooperation with clinical, patient service and cafeteria to assure high quality, nutritionally adequate food service. Establishes annual personal and departmental goals and evaluates the goals on a monthly basis. Participates in and contributes to hospital, departmental and community activities; serves as a committee member when appropriate. Promotes good customer relations. Maintains good communication inter and intra departmentally.
High school diploma and one year experience in hospital food service management. Two year Associate's Degree in Food Service related field is desired. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Certified Dietary Manager preferred. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
While performing the duties of this job the team member is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms: climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The team member must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
